Dr. Namrita S. Singh, PhD MSc (she/her)

Namrita is a public health scientist, teacher, community member, global citizen. Dr. Singh’s training and background is in global health, behavior change, mental health, health equity, and humanitarian assistance. She received her PhD from the Johns Hopkins School of Public Health, and her MSc from the University of Oxford. She has led numerous research and evaluation projects both internationally and in the U.S. aimed at increasing equity and psychosocial wellbeing. Dr. Singh has worked in a number of conflict-affected contexts and has consulted for a range of international and humanitarian organizations. She has nearly 20 years of experience in social science research and is a methodological specialist in qualitative research and evaluation, including the use of participatory approaches and mixed methods. She has extensive experience working in global mental health and in implementing and assessing interventions to prevent and address the consequences of conflict and trauma. Dr. Singh also has expertise in health equity, social epidemiology, and behavior change interventions and served as the Colorado Office of Health Equity’s social epidemiologist at the Colorado Department of Public Health. She has guided numerous teams and organizations in health equity and EDI (equity, diversity, and inclusion) practice. Dr. Singh has also received training in embodied transformational coaching and embodied equity from Coaches Rising and The Embody Lab; she is also a trained classical Indian dancer and uses embodiment and movement techniques in her work. She lives in Southern Colorado with her family.
